The type of crime drama I’m going to choose is psychological where the protagonist is a man of knowledge and knows the inside and out of crimes. He’ll manipulate each of his suspects using only his mind to create a technological effect to the audience
Characters:
The strong point is there is a combination of two protagonists with the help of the law in their investigations. The protagonists are psychologists who manipulate all their suspects thoroughly. Ross Franchot is the name I’ve given to the older character which is of French origin, and Wallace Pierce who is from United States. These characters will be portrayed by Jon Cryer (Ross Franchot) and Samuel L. Jackson (Wallace Pierce). Jon Cryer will take a move from the comedy side of television to focus on a more serious aspect of television. His work with Charlie Sheen in Two and a Half men has been praised as one of the top comedy shows so he could achieve this in crime dramas. Samuel L. Jackson stars in the well known film Pulp Fiction with John Travolta which displays his skills as being in a duo.

Typical Narrative
In my show ‘Takedown’ it will be about the duo Franchot and Pierce conflicting with the law to carry out their own investigations using only their minds. This is similar to Sherlock since manipulation is key to figuring out who the real murderers are. Also it has a twist of Dexter where in some cases the duo have to conflict with their suspects and eventually may kill them since they would have either committed such a bad murder or they are no longer important to their investigation.
Setting
The setting of my crime drama would be rural so many things like killing crimes would be more common than usual which absorbs the fact of more situations occurring to keep the audience entertained on specific situations happening at the same time.
Style
Similar to Dexter, the location of my TV series would be gritty because the crimes engaged in would be too serious and intense to keep hidden within the glamorous side of things. Everything is detailed and goes in depth in the murders and violence occurring. It is fast paced because the duo would commit murders and investigations fast enough to figure out the culprit fast and have the rest of the episode to enter investigations on finding clues to why and how they committed murders. both of the characters are smart and intelligent so they know exactly what they’re doing to keep things covered and also to think through how they’ll go through investigations and murders.
Scheduling
The TV crime drama would be on every Friday so that many more people can view the show since they would have finished their work for the week and have enough time to watch the entire episode. A suitable channel for the programme to come on would be BBC for UK and CBS for USA. BBC specifically because no breaks would be happening to keep the audience engaged, plus it’s one of the most well-known channels in UK. CBS would be a great channel to have it broadcasted on in USA because other crime dramas like CSI broadcast on it so having another crime drama could create competition between the quality of the episodes
Target Audience
Young adults, men and women are the main target audiences for the TV show because they would understand the show better than any other and would engage in the show a lot more than younger audiences. Men and women are suitable for violent content that would happen in comparison to younger audiences such as teenagers and/or children under the age of 12.
Similar Shows
Similar shows to the one I’m creating would be Dexter because not only would the duo be figuring out who the murderers were and how they committed the murders, they also may encounter times where they have to kill their murderers because of obvious reasons – self defence, uselessness or retaliation.
USP
My TV show would be different because the duo won’t have anybody who is more important than the other. They are both equal in stature which doesn’t affect the way someone may over power the other. Also most detective programmes don’t have the actual so called antagonists to commit murders since it takes away the fact in a way that they’re the good guys.
